Starting a Vinyl Release: Where Do You Begin?

There’s a lot involved in getting a vinyl release off the ground. Before you can even place an order, you need to gather all kinds of elements from audio to artwork, from copyright clearance to decisions about the weight and color of your vinyl.

And that’s just the beginning. When it comes to packaging your release, there are countless options. Think inner sleeves, outer sleeves, types of cardboard, printing techniques, color choices in your artwork… not to mention the unique vinyl terminology, technical specs, and templates you’ll need to get it all right.
